“I had the privilege of having Ms. Hall as a voice teacher and choir director for four years. I worked with her to prepare for solo voice recitals, including my senior recital, college auditions, and all-state choir auditions. Without her teaching, I would definitely not be in the place I am today.
Ms. Hall was, and always will be, a fierce advocate for healthy singing in every style and at any age. Whenever I worked with her, I always knew that she had the knowledge and experience to guide me to be the best singer I could be with the best vocal technique. When I first started studying with her, I thought I knew everything there was to know about singing. She helped unlock a whole new world of what the voice can really do, and instilled an excitement in me to explore the voice and learn how to grow and keep growing as a singer.
Beyond the technique I learned from Ms. Hall, I also learned the ins and outs of English, Italian, and German diction, how to study the text of a song and discover its meaning, how to sing emotively and expressively, how to engage an audience, and how to apply solo technique to choral singing. Ms. Hall is the most passionate and knowledgeable teacher I know when it comes to the voice. Her years of experience with students, directors, and world-renowned singers makes her an incredible versatile and intelligent voice teacher.

When I first met Ms. Hall, I had recently started singing again after giving up on my abilities. My singing and personality was frail, and scared, my sound and voice couldn’t be heard the way I wished it would, it's like I was scared to sing out. However, after working with Ms. Hall for four years of my life, I realized that I became a completely different person in comparison from the day that Ms. Hall did my audition for Kinder HSPVA. My voice was completely transformed as I went from singing alto in choir due to being scared to sing out, into becoming a high soprano as she always encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself. She supported me through some of the hardest times in my life and showed me the passion and love that I have for music that I had once lost. She helped me grow immensely in my musical career with her amazing musicianship, teaching, and preparation for multiple choir concerts, classical voice recitals, all state processes, and even contemporary music performances. I fell in love with performing all genres of music and all of the performances that we did together will forever have a place in my heart. Apart from being an amazing teacher and role model, Ms. Hall always supported me and helped me in everything that she could. Regardless of what it was, if she could help, she would be there and she became like family to me. She helped me become a leader and obtain confidence in myself and in my abilities. She told me to never give up on myself, and to never lose who I am no matter what. In my final year of high school, which was one of the hardest years of my life due to college applications and auditions, she was always there by my side, helping me prepare for any pre-screen and audition that I had to do. She would laugh and cry with me regardless of what the outcome was, and thanks to her love, support, letter of recommendation and help, I was admitted to New York University with a full ride scholarship to study voice performance. My biggest dream came true, and I will never forget how excited she was for me. If you are able to take voice lessons and work with Ms. Hall, I recommend it wholeheartedly as she made a huge impact on my life, and I will forever be thankful and grateful to have met her.
